Volunteering

Posted by The Team at iHOMES COLORADO on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 at 7:00am.

Yesterday we posted on our social media outlets about our time spent volunteering at the Food Bank of the Rockies. We wanted to really take a moment to share our thoughts on the importance of helping our local communities and creating ongoing relationships with them. Often times we are drawn in by our work and personal lives that we tend forget about those around us. Not everyone knows where their next meal will come from or where they will . We've all heard stories about individuals or families who have lost or are about to lose everything because they've been laid off, have become disabled and are no longer able to work, or their job (s) barely cover rent – these are just a few examples of the stories that are out there. In addition to people we want to bring light to our furry friends too because they need love, compassion and a loving home to live in.Volunteering

We want to take a moment to highlight the importance of helping others as well as building relationships with them. Donating money certainly helps various causes as they need to pay for the supplies, services and other things that keep them going. Volunteering some of your time where possible is not only a great service to those in need but at the same time you are building a meaningful relationship with members of your community, of course there is also a personal feel-good component. We volunteer once a month, usually at the Food Bank of the Rockies, and would like to extend an invitation for you to come join us help fight hunger. We are also looking at other volunteer options such as shelters, animal shelters, and the humane society.

Please let us know if you or your company could use help with a cause! Every company, group or individual could make such a huge difference to those in need if we focus on 'we' instead of 'I' a little bit more. We love you Colorado and thank you for allowing us to be a part of making our communities better.
