Today, July 25th 2016, the RTD B-Line made its debut in Westminster. A project that Commissioner Eva Henry thought would not be completed in her lifetime, has reached its first major milestone: the completion of the first station on the B-Line connecting Westminster to Denver.
The Westminster B-Line RTD station connects Westminster to Union Station in Denver. The non-stop 6 mile ride is about 11 minutes and will give commuters an opportunity to bypass traffic to downtown Denver. The fare to Denver will be $2.60 local one-way and the station contains 350 parking spaces and 20 bike lockers (Source: RTD)
The B-line rides are free today, July 25th and will run 5am to 10pm Monday though Friday (check RTD's website for accurate times or schedule changes). During peek hours the train will run twice per hour and during non peek hours the train will run once per hour.
To celebrate, the RTD will be hosting a few festivities today and this Saturday July 30th (click here to visit RTD's website for details). Also scheduled to open are the G-Line (Wheat Ridge to Arvada) this October and the R-Line in Aurora this Winter, according to the DenverPost.com
We are definitely excited for the B-Line because it is located just two blocks from our office! We love being able to be connected to downtown via this very convenient public transportation system.
