Sometimes rainy days can feel a bit depressing in Denver, especially since we are spoiled with about 300 days of sunshine a year. The great news is that our city not only has some amazing restaurants, breweries and bars but it also has some great things to do on rainy days. We always love hearing from you. What are some of your favorite things to do in the Denver area when it rains?
1. Golden Brewery Tour in Golden, CO (must be 21 and older to sample beer)
This tour is self-paced and can take about 30 minutes to complete. Learn about the MillerCoors’ company history, their malting, brewing and packaging processes. There are beer samples for those who are 21 years of age and for those under 21, there are non-alcoholic beverages available. Have you always wanted to improve your cooking skills, take a painting class or learn something new? Sur la Table, Stir Cooking School and The Seasoned Chef are just a few places that offer a large variety of cooking classes. For wine and painting classes, do an online search for what locations are nearest you. There are also plenty of classes for other crafts such as knitting, pottery, jewelry making, etc in the Denver area – simply pick what you would like to learn and do a search online to see what classes are being offered. Most Recreation Centers also offer adult classes so if you’ve been wanting to learn a new language, try a water aerobic class, learn about computers and more look no further than your local Rec. Center to see what classes they’re offering.
7. Indoor Karting
Indoor Karting is a fun way to go out and satisfy your need for speed while taking fun turns around an indoor track. Bring some friends or the family for a day of indoor karting (some places even have junior karting for the kiddos).

9. Food and Drink Movies (Dine in Theaters)

10. Drive-in Movie Theaters
While we are on the subject of movies, how about watching a movie from the comfort of your own car? Drive-in movie theaters are still around so make it a fun date night!
11. Flea Markets/ Indoor Markets
If you love bargains or finding rare, unique and one of a kind things then a Flea Market or Indoor Market is a perfect go-to for you. The Denver area has several markets that are open year-round. Click here to see more.
12. Colorado State Capitol Tour
The Colorado State Capitol, with its Golden Dome, is a prominent feature of the Denver skyline. In this tour you will be able to see the three Mile High Markers, the Allen True water murals, the Colorado General Assembly Chambers, the Rose Onyx wainscoting and Women’s Gold Tapestry.
